Following the successful application by the Carrington CCGT Project, the NJC Award for Safety in Engineering Construction was presented on 3rd February 2016 at a meeting of the Project Joint Council in Sale, Manchester. The award was presented by Richard Ash, Chairman of the NJC’s Safety Health & Environment Committee, and received on behalf of the Project by GE Power Ltd, Duro Felguera UK Ltd and the PJC Joint Chairmen.
The NJC Award for Safety in Engineering Construction recognises outstanding safety management and performance on Category 1 Major and Basic Projects, Category 2 Repair and Maintenance Sites. When merited, the Award is issued to reflect the combined efforts of the workforce, contractors and client in achieving the required level of excellence and innovation.
