NAECI Awareness Workshop for TU FTOs

An NJC Industry Awareness Course for Trades Union Full Time Officers will be held at 10.45 am on Thursday 23rd September 2010 in the NJC Offices, Walmar House.

The workshop will be presented in 2 parts. The morning session will conclude with a buffet lunch and the afternoon session will finish at around 3.00pm.

Jock Simpson will conduct the morning session which will cover aspects of the EC Industry including for example the role of the Clients and contractors, and the various kinds of contracts/industry practices.  He will then discuss the NJC, its organisation and objectives and its adjudication and arbitration panels.

David Askew will conduct the afternoon session covering an overview of the NAECI, key terms and conditions, the setting up of new projects and the current and future workloads.

A workshop review will close the proceedings.

The workshop will be highly informative and beneficial to all FTOs new to the Industry and those whose knowledge needs updating.
