Figures for the first 6 months of 2012 have now been fully collated. They show an even more encouraging picture than reported at the end of the first quarter.
Over the whole 6 months there have been only 2 reportable injuries and 1 non reportable more than one day ones. Covering nearly 4 million man hours, that works out at 96 reportable injuries […]
At its meeting on Wednesday 7 November, the F&GPC considered the fast growing EfW market and the opportunities for NAECI.
The NJC F&GPC will meet again on 14th December to discuss how to respond to the challenge of ensuring NAECI is fully involved in this market.

The Parties met on 22.10.12 to continue discussions to review NAECI 2013 and beyond.
Further progress was made and the Parties agreed to continue discussions on Wednesday 7th November 2012.
The NAECI has been in existence for more than 30 years and was most recently reviewed in 2012. Communique 07(12) gives details of the allowance increases and new provisions agreed in this review. Data for January to March 2012 has been collected and analysed. 2.3 million man hours were worked but only one reportable accident was recorded. That works out at 83 reportable injuries per 100,000 employed, which compares with 530/100,000 for construction as a whole.
