Figures for the first 6 months of 2012 have now been fully collated. They show an even more encouraging picture than reported at the end of the first quarter.
Over the whole 6 months there have been only 2 reportable injuries and 1 non reportable more than one day ones. Covering nearly 4 million man hours, that works out at 96 reportable injuries per 100,000 employees. That in turn compares with an HSE figure for all construction of 530/100,000. In other words reportable injury rates on audited NAECI sites are running at 18% of national UK construction norms.
Whilst complacency must be avoided at all costs, we are certain that this performance reflects a genuine spirit of cooperation as far as health and safety standards are concerned on major NAECI engineering construction projects.
